| Rapid City is the hub of the Hills
and a wonderful host for fun in the sun or under the stars. In
summer or winter the entertainment and cultural opportunities
are endless, and recreation follows the season. A 13 ½ mile biking/jogging
path follows Rapid Creek through the city. Rapid Creek comes from
the mountains and is the citys namesake. Many formal gardens
and recreational parks lie along its path. There are three municipal
golf courses, three private golf courses (one open to the public),
frisbee courses, soccer fields, baseball-softball fields, and
a polo field. |
|
Right on the outskirts of town, you will find
wildlife parks, music shows, amusement parks, a petrified forest, an aircraft
museum, trail rides, and gold panning. Through out the Hills you will
find more golf courses, ski slopes, snowmobile and cross-country skiing
trails, and an abundance of attractions for every taste. Below are a few
of the city attractions you wont want to miss:
- Rushmore Plaza Civic Center: Broadway Plays, Symphony and fine arts
presentations, Native American exhibits, flee markets, antique auctions,
