But it melts quickly except in the higher elevations of the Hills, and on the nearby ski slopes of Terry Peak and Deer Mountain only 50 miles away. Skiers enjoy their sport often through May. You’ll never get bored here! The four seasons are classic and consistent.

Some Tips:

• In the colder months, November through March, heaters are on in the home and in the auto, but seldom will you stay indoors by the fire.
• Have a wardrobe for all seasons, with one good warm coat.
• February and March are likely to bring heavy spring snows. Schools may be closed for a day or two while we shovel out!
• Plan on a variety of weather in the spring (April to July). Keep a light coat handy.
• You will need a good camera for some of the most beautiful rainbows, sunrises, and sunsets you will see anywhere on earth.
